Lockhart, Roger Floyd
Roger Floyd Lockhart, 74, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013. There will be no services. Roger deeded his body to the University of Iowa Anatomical Department.
Roger was born Oct. 7, 1939, in Griswold, Iowa, the son of Floyd and Mabel (Hultquist) Lockhart. In 1961, he entered the Navy for 3 1/2 years as an aviation mechanic. He proudly served his country in Cuba and Vietnam. He was stationed aboard the USS Kitty Hawk, an aircraft carrier, off the coast of Key West.
Roger was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the North American Hunting and Fishing Club. He enjoyed fishing and spending time on their lot on the river on the Missouri River.
Roger is survived by his sister, Dee Tye of Glenwood; brothers, Maynard Lockhart of Sheridan, Wyo., and Duane Lockhart of Gillette, Wyo.; and cousin, Mervin Keeton of Red Oak.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew, Rodney Tye.
