CEDAR RAPIDS - Iowa Ag Secretary Bill Northey, who at one time considered running for governor in the post-Terry Branstad era and frequently was mentioned as a Kim Reynolds running mate, has landed a role in her 2018 campaign.
Northey, a Spirit Lake farmer in his third term as agriculture secretary, has been named co-chairman of the Reynolds gubernatorial campaign.
Reynolds called him a 'tireless advocate for agriculture ... (who) deeply understands our steadfast focus on building strong communities.”
Additional co-chairs will be announced in the coming weeks.
The Reynolds' campaign earlier this week announced the support of more than 1,050 county chairpersons in all 99 counties.
