Patricia Lynn Cain, 61, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, June 18, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors include a daughter, Nicole Hilton and a son, Cory Cain, both of Cedar Rapids; special friend, Lester Wacker of Morning Sun; three sisters, Debbie Freerksen of Cedar Rapids, Julie Fare of Texas and Amy (Brett) Hart of Kentucky; and a brother, Jay Fare (Jennifer) of Center Point. She also is survived by two grandchildren, Lucas and Jeffery; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Patty was born on Oct. 8, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of James and Nancy Fare. She was a homemaker and enjoyed computer games, riding motorcycles with her friend, Lester, cooking and spending time with her beloved family and friends. She was an avid fan of Elvis, and received a plaque from the governor of Iowa for being the longest living individual in the state of Iowa to survive juvenile diabetes, which she fought with strength and courage.
Patty was a wonderful daughter, mother, sister and friend, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
