Betty J. Kapucian, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, where a visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include a sister, Marjorie F. (Melvin) Schulte of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sisters-in-law; Jane Tecklenburg of Mansfield, Texas, and Betty Kapucian of Keystone, Iowa; and her nieces and nephews, Michael (Marilyn) Silhanek of Elberon, Iowa, Roger (Carolyn) Silhanek of Belle Plaine, Iowa, Larry (Susan) Silhanek of Melbourne, Fla., Nancy (Don) Wolfe of Maynard, Iowa, Craig A. Schulte of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Kerry (Jane) Tecklenburg of Mansfield, Texas, Luci (John) Patterson of Mansfield, Texas, Brian (Karen) Tecklenburg of Mansfield, Texas and Tim (Brenda) Kapucian of Keystone, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil J. Kapucian; her parents; a sister, Arlene Silhanek; a brother, Harvey Tecklenburg; and a brother-in-law, Louis Kapucian.
Betty was born June 30, 1925, in Keystone, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Alma (Melhouse) Tecklenburg. She married Emil J. Kapucian on Sept. 21, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Betty worked for Wilson Food and F.W. Woolworth for 39 years before they closed in 1986. Betty enjoyed cooking and baking treats, which were enjoyed by her family and friends. She was a special wife and aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all.
