Marilyn Ellen Montgomery, 73, of Alburnett, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital. Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Visitation will be held one hour before the service.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon (James) Schulte; a son, David Montgomery; a daughter-in-law, Tracy Montgomery; eight grandchildren, Ann (John) Mueller, Jessica (Kyle) Anthony, Mary Schulte, James (Samantha) Montgomery, Eric Montgomery, Jonathan (Stephanie) Montgomery, Rachel Montgomery and Danielle Montgomery; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Roth; cousins, Paula, Christine, Jerry and Cheryl; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Karen; and a son, Michael.

Marilyn was born Feb. 1, 1939, in Eau Claire, Wis. She grew up in Dubuque, raised her children in Cedar Rapids, and lived the rest of her life in Alburnett. Marilyn worked at Rockwell Collins for 22 years.

Marilyn enjoyed cooking, traveling, gardening and spending time with her family and her cats.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society, 7411 Mount Vernon Rd. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403.
