Construction on Dubuque Street, Park Road to begin Tuesday
May. 27, 2016 8:31 pm
Construction on Dubuque Street and Park Road as part of Iowa City's Gateway project is set to begin Tuesday, according to a city news release.
Drivers should expect lane reductions on Dubuque Street around the Park Road intersection and the Mayflower Residence Hall on Tuesday while workers prepare for construction. The city plans to reduce traffic on Dubuque Street between Foster Road and Brown Street to one lane in each direction beginning in early June.
Work on Park Road is scheduled to begin Tuesday between the Iowa River and Holt Avenue and should last until September. Drivers can expect through traffic, but there will be lane shifts.
The city expects construction on the Dubuque Street and Park Road Bridge portions of the Gateway Project to continue through summer 2018.
The city warned drivers should expect delays or plan alternate routes during construction.
