Schlotterbeck, Irene C.
Irene C. Schlotterbeck, 88, of Urbana, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Urbana, with Father David Ambrosy as celebrant. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, near Urbana. Visitation will held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church in Urbana.
Irene was born April 30, 1921, near Walker, to Edward and Elizabeth (Schmitz) Kramer.
On June 14, 1939, she was united in marriage to Harold Schlotterbeck at Spencer's Grove. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1997.
A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Urbana, Irene was a member of the rosary society of her parish.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Goodell, Connie (Arvil) Haars and Shelly (Ted) Shaver, all of Urbana; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Chad Haars; and her brothers, Harold, Harry, Leo and Henry Kramer.
Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements.
