Donna May (Henry) Adams, 77, of Vinton, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, in her daughter's home in rural Vinton.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Urbana Methodist Church, with Pastor Susan Higdon and Pastor Sheri Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton.
A memorial fund had been established.
Donna was born May 29, 1939, in Shellsburg, to Delbert C. and C. Ruby (Burt) Henry, and graduated from Urbana High School in 1957. She was united in marriage to Russell Adams on Feb. 13, 1965, in Urbana.
She was an active member of Urbana Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.
Donna was a homemaker who loved to cook and bake, and enjoyed membership in the Neighborly Neighbors Club.
She enjoyed traveling, raising flowers and wintering in Florida, where she went to flea markets. Her greatest pleasure came from spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Donna is survived by her husband, Russell of Vinton; her children, Shelly (Wade) Hopper of Vinton and John (Pam) Adams of Waterloo; her grandchildren, Kristin (Jacob) Losenicky of Cedar Rapids, Michael Hopper of Vinton and Victoria (Garret) Birker of Vinton; the apples of her eye, great-grandchildren, Shaw and Brynn Losenicky; her sisters, Pat Routson of Marion and Margaret (Troy) Krug of Vinton; and her brothers, Dennis (Shirley) Henry of Urbana and Dale (Jeanette) Henry of Vinton.
She was preceded by her parents, Delbert and Ruby Henry; her in-law parents, Bill and Weda Adams; her daughter, Brenda Adams; her grandson, William Adams; and her sister, Delberta Seltrecht.
