Sharon Nielson, of Cosmos, Minn., died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at the age of 72 years and 30 days. May God bless her and grant her peace.
A celebration of Sharon's life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, with visitation one hour before the service at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Anamosa. The Rev. Marty Schuhmacher will officiate at the services.

Sharon Sue McDowell was born Dec. 15, 1944, to Harold and A. Bernice (Strickell) McDowell in Rhinebeck, N.Y. Sharon graduated from Anamosa High School in 1962. She was blessed with six children. Sharon moved to Cedar Crest Estates in Minnesota in 1997 and had been a resident ever since. She was an avid reader and also loved her old-time country music.
Survivors include five children, David Heiter of Manchester, Marcy Weaver of Dawson Springs, Ky., Gayle Rekowski of St. Cloud, Minn., Kevin Heiter of Princeton, Ky., and Robert (Shelly) Nielson of Dawson Springs; a sister, Elizabeth McDowell, and brother, Edward McDowell, both of Beloit, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and A. Bernice; a daughter, Tarri Lynn Wesley; and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Lyn Coulbourn.
