Sinclair, Edith H.
Edith H. Sinclair, 80, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at her home in West Branch. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at Springdale United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch.
Edith was born March 10, 1932, in Corydon, Iowa, the daughter of John and Mary Trumper Blocher. She graduated from Corydon High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Gerald Sinclair on June 22, 1951, in Corydon. Edith was the head cook for the West Branch School System for 19 years. She was a member of Springdale United Methodist Church.
Edith is survived by two sons, Thomas (Shelly) Sinclair of McGregor and Brian (Deborah) Sinclair of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Catherine Sinclair of Iowa City; eight grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jason, Jennifer, Heather, Hannah, Mary, Rebecca and Connor; five great-grandchildren, Emma, Isabella, Quentin, Anthony and Maxwell; and one sister, Norma Reuter of Topeka, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; one sister and one brother.
Memorials may be made to Springdale United Methodist Church or the Boy Scouts of America.
