Joel L. Rusbult, 50, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, at his home. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Tina; a son, Alex Turkettle of Florida; three stepdaughters, Mysti Redwing at home, Jerica Barnett of Tama and Stacey Moore
of Seattle, Wash.; his parents, Donald and Mary Rusbult of Marengo; two sisters, Shelly (Armen) Van Scoyoc of Blairstown and Shannon (Dennis Fruendt) Rusbult of Marengo; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Bernice Van Dyke and Wilfred and Dorothy Rusbult.
Joel was born May 2, 1967, in Iowa City, the son of Donald and Mary Van Dyke Rusbult. He married Tina Marie Buresh on May 5, 2007, in Cedar Rapids. Joel worked at Amana Refrigeration in assembly for five years.
He enjoyed fishing, the Hawkeyes and Chicago Bears football, watching horror movies and working on bikes.
Joel was a wonderful husband, son, father, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund has been established in Joel's name.
