Trumper, Alfred R.
Alfred R. Trumper, 91, of Marion, died May 7, 2010, in North English, following a short illness. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids. The Rev. Brice Hughes of Marion Christian Church will officiate. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Memories. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Surviving are his daughters, Beverly Draves of Marion and Barbara Allen and husband Duane of North English; grandchildren, David Draves of Marion, Chad (Shelly) Allen of North English and Shawn (Jennifer) Allen of Williamsburg; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and goddaughter, Joanne Wegner and husband Dennis.
He was preceded in death by her parents; wife, Reva; son, Ronnie Trumper; son-in-law, Ron Draves; grandson, Marcus Draves; and siblings, Golda, Pearl, Everett, Cecelia, Myrtle, Bertha, Herman, Earnest and Silva.
Alfred R. Trumper was born April 21, 1919, in Allerton, Iowa, the son of Lewis and Lena (Zimmerman) Trumper. He was united in marriage to Reva M. Seals on Dec. 26, 1936, in Unionville, Mo. She preceded him in death on May 5, 2010. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for People's Furniture for many years, and later at the Linn County Roads Department. He was a member of Marion Christian Church and Trojan Masonic Lodge No. 548 AF & AM.
