Donald J. Pearson, 61, of Cedar Rapids, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, with his loving family by his side.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Calvary Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids.
A time for fellowship will follow the memorial service.
Donald was born Oct. 8, 1954, to James and Beverly (Compton) Pearson in Ames, Iowa. He married Linda Heafner on Feb. 14, 1975, in Cedar Rapids.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Linda; his son, Corey (Jenn) Pearson of Cedar Rapids; his daughter, Nicolette Pearson of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Nathan and Hannah; his mother, Beverly of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Denny of Colorado, Bill (Lissa) of Cedar Rapids and Jeff (Shelly) of Marion; his sister, Kim (Scott) Smidt of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Donald was preceded in death by his father, James.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital or American Lung Association.
