Her family moved to Iowa City where she attended schools, graduating from University High School in 1964. She then attended Iowa City Business College where she received secretarial training. For over 35 years she worked for the University of Iowa in science education.
She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, enjoyed putting puzzles together, collected dolls, with her collection exceeding over 500, and was always ready for Christmas for all of her nieces and nephews, beginning shopping in June! She adored them, as they did her.
Her family includes her sister, Jane Featherston (Joe) of Roy, Utah; brother, David Metzler of North Liberty; nieces and nephews, Bill Reddick Jr. (Carol) of Iowa City, Lloyd Reddick (Barb) of Remlap, Ala., Laura Hershberger (Ted) of Coralville, Debbie Richardson (Tim) of Ogden, Utah; Shelley Cone of Oxford, Mike Featherston of Roy, Utah, and Julie Smith (Chad) of Roy, Utah; and numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joyce Reddick; and nephew, John Featherston.
