Bartels, Maynard L.
Maynard L. Bartels, 86, of Maquoketa, died Saturday morning, March 24, 2012, at his home in Maquoketa. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, at First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held before the service from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.
Maynard is survived by his wife, Helen Bartels of Maquoketa; his children, Bonnie Ireland of Waverly, Tenn., Nancy (Joe) Bolduc of Houston, Texas and Gayla (Don) Ohde of Cedar Rapids; stepchildren, Kenny Sanger of Maquoketa, Donnie (Pam) Sanger of Port Orchard, Wash., Jim Sanger Sr. of Davenport, Gary (Brenda) Sanger of Maquoketa and Dennis Sanger of Maquoketa; six grandchildren, Sean, Kelley, Amy, Alex, Jacob and Jackie; four great-grandchildren, Maeve, Nicky, Casey and Brenden; five stepgrandchildren, including Shelley; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren, including Storm and Lexie; a brother, Dean (Ellie) Bartels of Freeport, Ill.; and sisters, Inez Tucker of Hopkinton, Delores (Bob) Mohr of Hopkinton and Phyllis Fulwider of Minnesota.
