Allen J. "Jim" Cannon,
75, of Manchester, died Monday, April 30, 2018. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 4, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Masonville.
Jim was born Dec. 24, 1942, in Masonville, Iowa, the son of Cecil and Mary (Allen) Cannon. Jim was a 1960 graduate of Manchester High School. He served honorably with the Iowa National Guard. On Nov. 25, 1961, Jim married Cheree Stimson in Manchester. He was a member of the NRA and the Dyersville Sportsman's Club. Jim enjoyed riding dirt bikes, working on cars, hunting, playing cards, watching Westerns and NASCAR, reading and walking his dog. Jim loved his family and spending time with them.
Jim is survived by his son, Jim Cannon of Manchester; granddaughters, Ashia Hayes of Reno, Nev., Jami (Joshuwa) Wilson of Clarksville, Tenn., and Kori Cannon of Port Orchard, Va.; siblings, Pat (Carol) Cannon of Marion, Jack (Jamie) Cannon of Ashland, Ore., and Kay (Bill) Dolan of Independence; sister-in-law, Candee (Chuck) Danner of Boise, Idaho; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Mary Cannon; his wife, Cheree; and his son, Michael J. Cannon.
