Bette E. Hampton, 95, of Robins, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018, at Mercy Hallmar Residential Care, Cedar Rapids.
Bette was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Marion, the daughter of Harrison and Mary (Berry) Oxley. She graduated from Marion High School in 1940 and Cedar Rapids Business School in 1941. Bette worked at LaPlante Choate and Cedar Rapids Community Schools before retiring. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Marion and enjoyed volunteering in retirement.
Bette was united in marriage to Robert Hampton Sr. on Nov. 4, 1944, in Yuma, Ariz.
She is survived by her children, Robert Hampton II of Walker, and Mary (Larry) Arbogast of Battle Creek, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Bette was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; daughter, Susan Burger; and son, Bill Hampton.
Per Bette's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
