C.R. roads poorly built, maintained
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Dec. 17, 2013 1:41 pm
Recently, we traveled 5,900 miles in 12 states using interstates, state and county roads, in big cities and villages, over mountain passes and in deserts, in national and state parks and Indian reservations.
In all of this, with the exception of two roads marked “primitive” and “no maintenance” and a section of interstate being remade as we drove by, we did not drive 10 feet on roads as poorly constructed and inadequately maintained as Oakland Road, Cottage Grove Avenue and 42nd Street in Cedar Rapids.
