Jean Ann Remour, 66, of Swisher, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, from pneumonia. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 13, at First Assembly of God, located at 3233 Blairs Ferry Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.
Jean was born May 6, 1949, in New Hampton, the daughter of Raymond and Joan (Gardner) Potratz. She married Donald Lee Remour on Dec. 8, 1966, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Iowa City. Jean worked as an office coordinator at Kirkwood Community College for 10 years, retiring in 2010.
She enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, visiting on the phone, as well as having fun with family and friends.
Jean is survived by her husband, Donald; her son, Michael "Mike" Remour of Cedar Rapids; her brother, Brian (Rita) Potratz of Dripping Spring, Texas; her nephew, Luke (Stephanie) Potratz of Corpus Christi, Texas; her niece, Julia (Carlos) Garcia of Austin, Texas; and her father-in-law, Larry Baker of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Joan Potratz, and her son, Jeffery Lee, in 1967.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association in her name.
