Sharon Grim, 75, of Cedar Rapids, passed away in her sleep on Tuesday Nov. 6, 2018.
A visitation will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, the 10th of November at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in the Chapel of Memories. Graveside services will follow.
Sharon was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Oct. 13, 1943, the daughter of Dawson and Wilma Grim.
She is survived by her sister, Judy (Bob) Spencer of San Antonio, Texas; brothers, Peter (Madelyn) Grim of Phoenix, Ariz., and Scott (Sue) Grim of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Sharon attended Special Education classes from the age of 6 to age 18. In 1966, she started working at the Sheltered Workshop. In 1970, she started her 42 years of service with Options of Linn County. She was a part of the Linn Haven community living in several group homes in Cedar Rapids and Marion, until she became confined to a wheelchair, at which point she entered Living Center West, where she has been living since December 1999.
The Special Education, Sheltered Workshop, Options, Linn Haven organizations and Living Center West all contributed to the success and happiness of Sharon, and her family wishes to thank all the people who have been involved with these organizations.
An extra special thanks goes to the staff at Living Center West in Cedar Rapids, for the care and compassion that they gave Sharon over the years that she lived there.
