KENT ALLEN STIMSON Marion Kent Allen Stimson, 58, of Marion, iowa, formerly of Kansas City, passed away on Nov. 9, 2018, after fighting with strength and courage during his year-and-a-half battle with cancer. A funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marion, Iowa, on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 10:30 a.m. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery following the service. A luncheon and time of fellowship will take place after the burial at St. Paul's, Marion. Kent Stimson was born on July 19, 1960, to Ralph and Anita (Kerkman) Stimson in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a graduate of Linn-Mar High School. Kent worked as a produce manager for Hy-Vee. He loved the Iowa Hawkeyes and the outdoors. He especially enjoyed camping and bonfires. Kent's family and friends meant the world to him. Kent is survived by his parents, Ralph and Anita; sister, Karie (Tyrone) Meyer of Marion; a nephew, Daniel (Amanda) Meyer and their three children, Madison, Gracie, Hayden; and a nephew, Michael (Kristin) Meyer and their daughter, Baylee. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lyle and Meada Stimson; and his maternal grandparents, Roy and Orpha Kerkman. Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
