Cascade
Stephen J. Kleitsch, 68, of Marion, formerly of Cascade, passed away at 7:40 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade.
Friends may call after 8:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade. Services for Stephen will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Aloysius Vorwald presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cascade. Reiff Funeral Home of Cascade is in charge of arrangements.
Stephen was born March 14, 1949, in Monticello, Iowa, son of Edwin and Dolores (Rogers) Kleitsch. He was a graduate of the former Aquin High School in Cascade. He was a Navy veteran, having served at the U.S. Naval Air Station in Guam from 1969 to 1971. He was employed at Home Depot in Cedar Rapids for 15 years.
Steve was a wonderful loving friend to his family and co-workers, who thought the world of him. He loved his morning coffee, Chicago Bears, NASCAR, Iowa Hawkeyes and occasionally a golf game with his dad.
He was a member of Cascade Knights of Columbus Council No. 2001.
He will be sadly missed by all those who loved him dearly.
He is survived by his father, Edwin Kleitsch of Cascade; three brothers, Dave (Judy) Kleitsch of Cascade, Marv (Deb) Kleitsch of Monticello and Gary (Terri) Kleitsch of Cascade; two stepchildren, Danny Figueroa of Dyersville and Vanessa Figueroa of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Kleitsch, on Nov. 16, 2005; a sister, Sharon Kleitsch, in 1954; and a niece, Kimberly Kleitsch, in 1980.
