Faith Ann Hein, 88, of 910 Keyes Ct., Marion, died Oct. 22, 2018, at her home. Memorial services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marion on Nov. 10, 2018, at 2 p.m. with a time of reception afterwards. The Rev. Gregory Williamson is officiating. Burial will be held in the Lowden Cemetery at a later date.
Faith was born to Frances and Lydia (Conrad) Strackbein on Feb. 26, 1930, in Iowa City. She graduated from Lowden High School in 1947.
On Aug. 20, 1950, Faith married Gerald Hein in Lowden, and was employed for several years by American Trust & Savings Bank of Lowden. In 1958, they moved to Cedar Rapids. Faith managed Midwestern Dairy Store in Marion for 22 years (1967-89). She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marion where she chaired the Altar Guild for many years.
A loving mother and caregiver, she enjoyed bowling, golf, gardening, travel and her granddaughter.
Survivors include her son, Timothy (Jean) of Marion; granddaughter, Kirsten of Tulsa, Okla.; brother and sister-in-law, Kent and Janice Strackbein of Lowden; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Geraldine Schmidt; her parents; sister, Edith Sternberg; brothers, Kermit and Rueben Strackbein.
Memorials should be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Marion.
