Leo Frank Royer, 81, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at RidgeView Senior Living in Cedar Rapids. A private funeral service with immediate family was held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Leo Frank Royer was born May 14, 1935, to Frank and Alma Royer of Rudyard, Mich. He married Sue Sharp in 1960. He later married Donna Bell in 1996. Leo graduated from high school in Rudyard. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at Beltone in the hearing aid industry for 47 years, retiring in 2012. Leo enjoyed playing his guitar and singing throughout his life. His passion was working with the hearing- impaired and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Donna; son, Kevin (Helen) Royer, Marion; daughter, Lisa Royer, Salt Lake City; daughter, Karen (Pat) McGuire, Geneseo, Ill.; two stepchildren, Brian Bell, Aledo, Ill., and Teresa (Jay) Larson, Aledo; seven grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Louie Royer; and three sisters, Rita Fogelstrom, Melida Spencer and Sister Francis Royer.
