Mary M. Stark Koopman, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, March 6, 2015, at Living Center East following a long illness. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, at St. Jude Catholic Church, by the Rev. Mark
Reasoner. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. A vigil service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family until 7 p.m. Friends also may visit after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Hazel Druger of Cedar Rapids; son, Harlan "Sonny" (Debi) Koopman of Center Point; son, Anthony (Nancy) Koopman of Cedar Rapids; and daughter, Jean (Tim) Stanek of Cedar Rapids; eight grand-children; several great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Stark; sisters, Darlene Kucera and Carole (Bob) McNulty; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harlan; sister, Dorothy Stark; brother-in-law, Leonard Kucera; and great-grandson, Zach Druger.
Mary Martha was born Sept. 5, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Charles John and Martha Marie Reuter Stark. She married Harlan Edward Koopman on March 1, 1962. Mary worked as a district court clerk for Linn County District Court for 45 years, retiring in 2002.
She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. She enjoyed collecting antiques, cook books and loved going to estate sales.
