Sullivan, Marian
Marian Sullivan, 89, formerly of Marion, died peacefully Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at Crestview Acres. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Jude Catholic Church by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. A vigil service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, where friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m., and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Marian is survived by two daughters, Pat Caswell of Des Moines and Jan Sullivan of Marion; nine grandchildren, Rodney (Melissa) Sullivan of Iowa City, Sarah (Spencer) Gross of Sutliff, Andy (Terrie) Sullivan of Lisbon, Jeff Caswell of Kansas City, Jolene (Jim) Brown and Jeanne (Jim) Koster, both of Urbandale, Raigan (Craig) Johnson and Ragina Kroemer, both of Marion, and Michelle (Craig) Conger of Waterloo; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Everett Pint of Waterloo and Gene (Mary Jo) Pint of Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.
Marian was preceded by her husband, Thomas; son, Robert; two brothers, Richard and Francis; sister, Vivian Sweeny; grandson, Marshall Kroemer; and son-in-law, Mike See.
Marian was born Nov. 26, 1920, in Stacyville, the daughter of Anton and Regina Blake Pint. She married Thomas Sullivan on Sept. 17, 1940, in Elma. She worked at Farmstead as a production worker. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
Marian was dedicated to her family. She was very stoic and generous and she believed that you could fix anything with a good meal.
Memorials may be directed to St. Luke's Hospice.
