Rummelhart, Jacqueline A.
Jacqueline A. Rummelhart, 74, of Iowa City, passed away peacefully Monday, May 13, 2013, at home following a long battle with emphysema. Family Committal Services are planned at a later date at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.
Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service.
Jackie was born Nov. 30, 1938, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Lester and Mildred (Bishop) Manasmith. She was raised on a farm near Wellman where she was a 1957 graduate of Wellman High School. Following high school, Jackie was employed at the VA Health Care System where she met her husband to be Paul (Ted) Rummelhart. They were married Oct. 18, 1958.
Jackie was an animal caretaker in medical research in the College of Pharmacy and College of Dentistry at the University of Iowa. She retired in 1995. Jackie was a member of the Eagles Club and the Iowa City and Riverside VFW. She enjoyed her friends, music and playing cards.
The family extends their appreciation to Iowa City Hospice, especially Katie, for the wonderful care they provided.
Survivors include her brother, Larry (Jean) Manasmith and their children, Mikki Webb, Jeff Manasmith and Stacey Gates; brothers and sisters-in-law, Don (Esther) Spevacek, Richard (Lenore) Rummelhart, Hubert (Leona) Rummelhart, JoAnn (Dick) Horesowsky, Gertrude Landry and Elaine Brown; and nieces, nephews and friends.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and their son, Randy; and brothers-in-law, Lester and Elmer Rummelhart.
