Robert "Bob" K. Soukup, 84, of Central City, passed away peacefully following a short illness on Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, at Lakeland Regional Health in Lakeland, Fla. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at Squaw Creek Baptist Church. Family will greet friends from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Graveside service: 2 p.m Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at Dunkard Cemetery, Toddville. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City.
Bob was born in Center Point, Iowa, to Fredrick and Laverna (Krouse) Soukup. He married Lorraine Newman on December 11, 1954. She passed away in 1985. Bob married Deanea Smith on August 26, 1987, in Kirksville, Mo. He worked at Wilson Foods for 36 years and Sam's Club for 19 years. "Mr. Cubby" enjoyed sports, especially the Cubs, Bears and Hawkeyes.
He is survived by his wife, Deanea; children, Nathan (Marilyn) Soukup and Kim (Tom) Chambers; stepchildren, Scott (Lisa) Madlom, Ritch (Bonnie) Madlom and Lola (Andy) Brown; grandchildren, Chad (Katie), Polly (Jeff) and Ashley (fiance, Clayton); step-grandchildren, Troy (Crystal), Quinn (Stefni), Crystal (Chad), Jesse, Sam and Connor; and six great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lorraine; sister, Iva Jean Soukup; twin great-granddaughters, Kinley and Khloe Loneman; and beloved dog, Joy.
Memorials in Bob's name may be directed to Squaw Creek Baptist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
A special thank-you to Roger, for delivering Bob's newspaper, and his golfing buddies, Jack Sawyer, Jack Sweet, Hoagie and Schulista.
