Homewood, David Henry

David Henry Homewood, 64, of Luxemburg, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

He was born Dec. 6, 1948, to Harold and Phyllis (Langerman) Homewood in Fayette, Iowa. Dave graduated from the Fayette High School and served his country in Vietnam. On Oct. 1, 1983, he was united in marriage with Lois Larson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He worked for Lumber Specialties in Dyersville for many years.

Dave enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports, spending time with family and living for the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; two sons, Cody (Cyndie) Homewood and Brad (Jessica) Homewood; one stepdaughter, Deliegha (Jeff) Swanson; six grandchildren, Harper, Holland, Brandon, Charissa, Lois and Titus; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles; and one sister, Carolyn.

Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 207 S. First St., Guttenberg, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6. Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Tyler Strickfaden officiating.
