Stephen Michael Dennis, 35, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 8, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at The Legacy Center, Murdoch-Linwood, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Stephen was born May 24, 1983, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Michael and Dawn (Creger) Dennis. He graduated from Jefferson High School. Stephen worked as a journeyman pipefitter with Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 125. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, fishing and archery with his son, Landen, and father, Mike Dennis. He loved watching movies and hanging out with and coaching his son and best friend, Landen.
Stephen is survived by his son, Landen; parents, Michael and Dawn Dennis of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Christine (Tim) Wendt of Marion, Jeff Dennis of Spirit Lake and Andrea Dennis (Brad Langel) of Cedar Rapids; nieces and nephews, Rachel, Jacob, Tren, Kolten, Riley, and Allyson; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Josephine Dennis, Davis and Mary Jane Creger; and great-grandmother, Julia Antles.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for an education fund for Landen.
