MICHAEL W. BREAM
Perry
Michael Wayne Bream, 55, of Perry, Iowa, passed away on Aug. 22, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, at Oxford United Methodist Church, 202 Main St., Oxford, Iowa. A private funeral service will be held at a later date.
Mike was born in Iowa City, Iowa, to Bill and Reta (Slade) Bream on Feb. 3, 1963. He grew up in Tiffin, Iowa, and graduated from Clear Creek High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1981 to 1985. He married Connie Harney in July 1988. The couple raised their children, Sara (Ross) Casteel and Bradly (Danielle) Bream, on the Bream family farm in rural Oxford. In 2015, they relocated to Perry.
He worked as an electrician for 32 years, most recently working for Interstates Construction services in Sioux Center, Iowa. He was a natural-born leader and, in his later life, loved to share his knowledge with young electricians. He held multiple state electrical licenses and received numerous achievements for his work over the years.
He was a member of Oxford United Methodist Church, Canopy Masonic Lodge 290, American Legion Post 537 and the Iowa Hereford Breeders Association. He enjoyed being involved with the local 4-H programs, farming with his dad, hunting and fishing, tending to his garden and spending time with his grandsons, Jackson Casteel and Wyatt Bream.
Mike is survived by his wife, children, grandsons and two siblings, Wanda (Larry) Sedivec and Don (Becky) Bream, all of Oxford; and many loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Reta Bream; and in-laws, Robert and Rose Harney.
The family of Mike Bream wishes to extend their sincere thanks to family, friends and Interstates Construction for their support during this very difficult and trying time.
