Delbridge, Sylvia J.
Sylvia J. Delbridge, 92, a resident of MethWick, formerly of Swisher, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at The MethWick Community, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Tom Carver. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 7, at the funeral home. Burial: 2 p. m. Wednesday, May 9, at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Colchester, Ill.
Survivors include her daughters, Gloria (Robert) Mason of Fairfax and Patricia (Brad) Salzwedal of Brookfield, Wis.; four grandchildren, Brent (Lisa) Salzwedal, Kevin (Lori) Short, Michael (Kara) Short and Erin (Brian) Bellin; and eight great-grandchildren, Matt, Joe, Zach, Layne, Jace, Addison, Kyle and Avery.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Pamela; husband, Ray; grandson, Rob Short; and siblings, Aldan Wiles, Aileene Wiles and Goldie Ejven.
Sylvia was born March 18, 1920, the daughter of Alfred and Rosa (Rhodes) Glenn, in Redbird, Mo. On Oct. 9, 1940, she was united in marriage to Raymond Delbridge in Macomb, Ill. Sylvia worked at College Community Schools. She was an active member of the Shueyville Methodist Church and volunteered for Tanager Place and Tuppermart.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Research in memory of Sylvia.
