A bright idea

Pull out your shades, folks, neon is a hot trend this summer. But with clean lines and tailored fits, it's not a flashback to the '80s, I promise. From accessories to separates, there are many options to incorporate the look this season. Here are some ideas for rockin' the trend this season, but don't worry, big hair and acid wash denim can stay at home.
Start with accessories
Ease into neon by choosing some bright tones in jewelry, shoes or bags. They often cost less and are far more interchangeable.
Pick your preference
If venturing out to such a hot shade is daring for you, stick with a color family you are already comfortable with - there are a lot of options for neon: pink, yellow, green, blue, etc.
Pair with neutrals
Again, this isn't the '80s anymore, so no need to go neon head to toe. Black, white and khaki are great combos to add with a neon top or bottom. Break up the bright. The same goes for something along the lines of a dress, pair neutral accessories or better yet, go au naturel.
Incorporate with prints
Since neon is so on trend, there are many pieces that incorporate it within a print. It's a great way to bring something fresh into your look for these hot summer nights.
Mix in other summer trends
You can also add a neon touch to some of the other summer trends this season, such as florals, color-blocking, colored denim, clutches and shoes.
As with anything on trend, it's important to push yourself a little bit out of your comfort zone. Who knows, we might have to wait another 30 years for neon to come back, so get out there and enjoy.
