WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A reward offered in the killing of a real estate agent in West Des Moines a year ago has grown to $150,000.
Twenty-seven-year-old Ashley Okland, an employee with Iowa Realty Co., died after she was shot at a model townhome on April 8, 2011. Police say Wednesday the reward for information leading to an arrest in her killing has doubled from $75,000 to $150,000.
Police continue to investigate the shooting, and have followed up on over 700 leads and have over 550 names in a data base related to the case.
Lt. Jim Barrett says the killing remains a priority, and he believes the increase in the reward will encourage "someone" who has information to come forward.
