Deal, James Goodner
James Goodner Deal, 77, of Meadview, Ariz., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Oct. 24, 2011, in Meadview. A memorial service will be held for James in Iowa at a future date.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie L. Deal; children, James G. Deal, Kathryn Phipps, Ann Elise Fassler, David Ross and Daniel Ross; and sister, Sherry Kooney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bess Rae and L. Max Deal; and a son, Jeffrey Deal.
James Goodner Deal was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on July 12, 1934. He attended school at McKinley High School and graduated from Franklin High School in 1952. He served in the United States Air Force and attended the University of Iowa. During his life James worked in contracts for Boeing, Rockwell Collins and Siemens.
He was a loving and caring husband and father and he will be greatly missed.
