Stamp Out Hunger food drive was a success

Cedar Rapids area letter carriers and volunteers collected thousands of pounds of food for local pantries on their annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive May 10.
Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, which is operated jointly by Christ Episcopal Church and Westminster Presbyterian Church, received nearly 40 large cartons of quality canned and boxed food from the drive.
We want to tell everyone involved how grateful we are for this food. The groceries have filled our shelves and our clients, 120 or more each Tuesday, are leaving the pantry with several bags of much needed food. Food insecurity is a huge problem here and throughout the country, but if we all work together we can certainly help. Thank you, Cedar Rapids.
