Calvin Coolidge Weger, 91, of Oelwein, Iowa, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 16, 2015, at the Oelwein Health Care Center in Oelwein.
Funeral service: 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at St. Sebald Lutheran Church, rural Strawberry Point, Iowa, with Pastor Margaret Yackel-Juleen officiating.
Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
Interment: St. Sebald Cemetery, rural Strawberry Point, Iowa.

Calvin Coolidge Weger was born Sept. 14, 1924, in rural Strawberry Point, Iowa, the son of Johann Daniel and Lottie (Andermann) Weger. He graduated from Strawberry Point High School with the class of 1942. On May 26, 1950, he was united in marriage to Donna Mae Herzmann. Calvin farmed in the Strawberry Point area until 1977, and then owned Cal's Tap in Oelwein, Southern Cal's in Cedar Rapids and Western Cal's in Fairbank. He enjoyed playing cards, gambling, shooting pool, listening to KOEL, the Chicago Cubs, gardening and visiting with people.
Calvin is survived by his five children, Carol Weger (Don Serovy) of Cedar Rapids, Robert (Joyce) Weger of Cedar Rapids, Randy (Sandy) Weger of Cedar Rapids, Connie (Clete) Dempsey of Hazleton and Christi (Dan) Rink of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren, Heather (Jared) Morris, John (Jennifer) Weger, Michael (Kim) Soper, Nate Weger, Zach Weger, Luke Weger, Adam Rink and Madi Rink; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Weger, Robert John Weger and Hayley Morris; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, William Weger; two daughters, Cathy Weger and Cindy Weger; two sisters, Emma Brownell and Margaret White; one brother, Warren Weger; and one half-brother, Laverne Weger.
