Carson, Daniel Eugene

Daniel Eugene Carson, 53, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy on Saturday, Aug. 15, from injuries suffered in a June 27th motorcycle accident. Services will be at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home by Pastor Sheryll Untiedt on Wednesday at 2 p.m., with visitation on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m., and burial at Linwood Cemetery.

Dan was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on May 19, 1956, to parents, Robert Carson and Sandy (Kelly) Carson. He married Jane McNeely on Feb. 8, 1989.

Dan is survived by his wife, Jane; parents, Robert and Janice Carson; sons, Dustin and Jason; daughter, Kelly; brothers, Michael R., Ronald (Jane), Michael S. (Christa), Mark (Julie) and Tim (Lisa); sisters, Joni Carson and Sandra Woodruff; grandchildren, Kyler, Joshua, Dillon, Lexi, Cody, Gavin, Gabby and Alexis; loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews; faithful dog, Buddy; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandy Joerger; daughter, Heather Carson; and grandparents, Emil and Margaret Carson, Fred and Emma Petrick and Charles and Florence Hawley.

Dan was a proud 30-year union member and executive board officer of Ironworkers Local 89 in Cedar Rapids.

Dan was a giver even in death as an organ donor.
