Leonard A. Joslin passed away in Anamosa on July 7, 2015.
Leonard was born March 26, 1917, to Lewis and Josie Joslin, minutes before his twin brother, Lawrence. He lived in Fairview his entire life except for six years of service in the U.S. Navy during World War II when he saw action in the South Pacific.
He is survived by his brother, Joe Joslin of California; daughters, Linda K. Johnson of Fairview and Christine Joslin (Jim) Faust of Des Moines; grandchildren, Quinn (Molly) McCormick Johnson of Marion, Max (Melanie) Faust of Shanghai, China, and Alexis Faust of Des Moines; six great-grandchildren, Miranda, Lewis, Rachel, Emma, Benjamin and Bryan; as well as many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters; four brothers; his wife, Sarah Hartwig Joslin; and his beloved grandson, Lucas Johnson.
Leonard will be remembered as a Navy signalman, Golden Gloves boxer, truck driver, minister, master storyteller, husband, father, brother, uncle, survivor and friend.
He was an elder in the Community of Christ Church of Cedar Rapids, where his memorial service will be Saturday, Aug. 8, at 2 p.m. Military honors will be accorded during the service. Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, is assisting the family.
