Rosemary C. Malik, 86, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, at Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha. Latin Requiem Mass: 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, by Father Christopher Podhajsky.
Burial: St. John's Cemetery. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service is in charge of the arrange-ments.
Rosemary is survived by her brother, Norbert (Margaret) Malik, Iowa City; three greatly loved nieces, Mary Loretta Malik and husband Bill Fitzhenry, San Luis Obispo, Calif., Calliope Sheen, Seattle, Wash., and Kathryn Malik and husband Andrew Kochan, Denver, Colo.; and a great-niece, Emily Kochan.
Preceding Rosemary in death were her parents, Julius and Mary Rose (Samek) Malik.
Rosemary was born June 17, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from St. Wenceslaus High School and Mount Mercy Junior College. Rosemary did secretarial work throughout her life and was employed at Equitable Life Insurance Co., Western Fraternal Life Association and Kilborn Photo Products.
Rosemary enjoyed traveling, belonged to a bowling league and volunteered 1,000 hours in trauma at Mercy Medical Center.
Rosemary always was very grateful to the Sisters of Mercy for the education she received at both St. Wenceslaus and Mount Mercy Junior College.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.
