Davidson, Charlotte

Charlotte Davidson, 98, of Lowden, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Lowden, with the Rev. Victor Young officiating. Burial: Trinity Church Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements with Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence.

Survivors include a nephew, two nieces, a cousin and her devoted neighbors and friends, Connie Madden, Edna Hartwig and Marnell Scheeper. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and a sister.

Charlotte was born to George Tometich and Mary Bubon on Sept. 20, 1911, in Zagreb, Yugoslavia. Charlotte came to the United States on Oct. 12, 1912, and was a graduate of Slater, Iowa, High School. She became a U.S. citizen in 1931. She married Albert Davidson on June 22, 1935, at Knoxville, he died in 1999. Albert and Charlotte made their home in Nevada, Iowa. After Albert's Army discharge they moved to Eastern Iowa making their home in several places due to his work. They finally moved to Lowden in 1955.
