Palmer, Louise
Louise Palmer of Iowa City went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, Feb. 26,2011. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City, with the Rev. Brent Hartwig officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
Louise was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, on April 21, 1928, the daughter of Emmett and Blanche Peck. On March 25, 1951, Louise was married in Ottumwa. In the early 1960s Louise moved to Iowa City, where she was employed as teller at US West for many years, retiring in 1990.
Louise was a long time member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
In retirement Louise spent most of her time enjoying her family, friends and grandchildren and her dog “Alf.”
Louise is survived by her three sons, George (Diane), Michael and Kenneth Palmer; three grandchildren, Sean, Lisa and Christopher Palmer; four great grandchildren, Logan, Nicholas, Keegan and Ethan; and a niece, Patricia Snook.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Blanche Peck; and a sister, Margaret Davis.
