Carolyn Sue Carmer Oler, 65, passed away Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018. A celebration of life open house will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Lisbon
United Methodist Church. Please stay for a short prayer service, conducted by Pastor Karen Nelson, following the open house.
Carolyn was born March 27, 1952, to
Delbert and Grace Carmer, of Lisbon, Iowa. She was the fourth born of eight children. Carolyn graduated from Lisbon High School and worked many years at the Solon Care Center. Carolyn was a very sweet and
loving person who thought of others before herself and would always say her family meant everything to her.
Carolyn is survived by siblings, Delbert Jr. (Janet) Carmer of Cedar Rapids, Tom Carmer of Sunrise Beach, Mo., Dennis Carmer of Cedar Rapids, Laurie Carmer Schultz and Teresa Carmer (Gary) Gordon, both of
Phoenix, Ariz. Honorary siblings include Don Stepanek, Brenda Ford, Denise Carmer and Jay and Helen Proffitt; aunts, Crystal Osborn, Treva Heiser, Betty Stoneking and Kathy Bearce; nieces and nephews, Jeff, Sherrie,
Jason, Jenifer, Rena, Corey, Dennis Jr., Michael, Shawn, Chris, Josh, Trent, Chad, Chelsea, Zachary, Ashley and Rylee; along with many important cousins, great-nieces and nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Bev Stepanek; a brother, Kevin "Bear" Carmer; and a niece, Molly Carmer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests all memorial gifts be made to the future Solon Retirement Village
Palliative Care Unit.
