Jordan Bernstine on his rehab; sights and sounds around Jack Trice Stadium
Sep. 12, 2009 10:15 am
Iowa cornerback Jordan Bernstine hobbled on crutches in the Jack Trice Stadium parking lot about three hours before the game.
He was met by two friends and propped himself against a vehicle and tried not to put weight on his left leg. Bernstine, a junior from Des Moines, fractured and dislocated his left ankle early in summer camp. He's out for this season and will red-shirt.
Bernstine didn't say much, but he expressed his disappointment about the injury.
"It's coming," Bernstine said of his ankle. "It's a length process. It's getting better."
Bernstine said he'll be in his cast for four more weeks before he can start rehabilitation.
"It's unfortunate but we're rehabbing and stuff, and we'll get back out there in no time," he said.
