Stan Kubik, 88, of Walker, passed away at home on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. The family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at
Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at Walker United Methodist Church, conducted by Pastor Annette K. Ruhs Kruse. The family also will greet friends one hour before the service at the church. Burial will take place at Walker Cemetery.
Stan is survived by his wife, Kay; children: David (Rhonda) Kubik, and their children, Rob (fiancee, Heather) Kubik and Amanda Kubik; and Kathy (Barry) Ezell, and their children, Aubrey Ezell and Halle Ezell; brother, Gerald (Dorie) Kubik; and in-laws, Bonnie Kubik, Grace Kubik, Rick (Kay) Baskerville, Harlan (Phyllis) Baskerville, Carole (Dick) Carson and Ellen (Al) Paone.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ray, Eddie, and twin brother, William; and sisters, Gladys Zavodsky and Martha Zeadow.
Stanley was born Oct. 9, 1929, in Walker, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Frances (Stroleny) Kubik. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. On Sept. 6, 1958, Stan was united in marriage to Kay Baskerville in Nashua, Iowa. He was a lifelong farmer and was employed at Iowa Manufacturing for 42 years.
Stan was an avid hunter and card player. He loved the outdoors and farming. Stan deeply treasured his family and his dog, Missy.
A memorial fund has been established in Stan's memory.
