Albert, Gloria
Gloria Albert, 60, of Indianapolis, Ind., passed away April 14, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Gloria was born in Vinton, Iowa, on Feb. 16, 1953, to Eddie and Kathryn (Pippert) Ocheltree. She graduated from Dysart-Geneseo High School and attended the University of Iowa. Gloria married John Albert in May of 1983 in Iowa City. The couple moved to Indianapolis in 1985, at which time Gloria began working in the health insurance business.
Gloria enjoyed the Indy 500, Brickyard 400, and NASCAR races, cooking, reading, crocheting, and knitting.
She is survived by her loving husband, John; sister, Vickie (Larry) Holst of Vinton, Iowa; brother, Jim (Bonnie) Ocheltree of Dysart, Iowa; brother-in-law, Jim (Joanne) Albert of Iowa City, Iowa; many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; and her dog, Max.
The family would like to especially thank their friends and co-workers who showed their love and support during this difficult time.
Gloria and John were devoted to each other to the very end and hope to meet together “somewhere” in God's Plan to embrace once again.
A memorial service will be held at the Aaron Ruben Nelson Mortuary, 11411 North Michigan Rd., Zionsville, Ind., on Friday, April 19, at noon. Visitation will from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indianapolis Humane Society.
