Ruth Elizabeth Kaufman, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Aug. 9, 2014, at Northbrook Manor Care Center. A private family funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at the chapel. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Ruth is survived by her four sons, Mike (Cindy) Cobb of Medford, Ore., Pat (Sandra) Cobb of Cedar Rapids, Eddie Jones of Delhi, Iowa, and Dennis (Lana) Cobb of Solon; six grandchildren, Brent, Jodi, Brian, Todd, Mike and Richard; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Kaufman; a daughter, Patricia Kaufman; and a sister, Margie Woodward.
Ruth Elizabeth Kaufman was born Oct. 20, 1923, in Yonkers, N.Y., the daughter of Willis and Betty (Ruppert) Anderson. Ruth worked as a restaurant owner for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, playing cribbage, spending time with her family and also was a very faithful Chicago Cubs fan.
Ruth was a loving and caring person.
Memorials in Ruth's honor may be directed to Hospice of Mercy.
The family would like to thank all the residents and staff from Northbrook Manor Care Center for their love and support for the tender care given to Ruth.
