Roseland, Kurt Robert
Kurt Robert Roseland, 56, died peacefully at home in his sleep Tuesday, Sept., 20, 2011.
Born in Mason City, Iowa, he was a graduate of Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and graduated from Drake University with a degree in business. He was vice president of Roseland Brothers and Treasurer of Dakota Three.
Kurt was a world-class fisherman and was passionate about bird hunting with friends and his faithful lab, Eddie. He also loved to fish for walleyes at the family cabin on Lake Vermilion, Minn. While Kurt enjoyed traveling the world, he always said his favorite vacations were with the family in Canada and on their boat, the Nina Anne, in the Bahamas. Kurt was planning to leave for Alaska at the end of the month to look for retirement property.
Kurt is survived by his parents, Bob and Nina Roseland (Larimore) of Des Moines; his sister, Anne Thompson (Michael) of Irvine, Calif.; his brother, Craig Roseland (Cathy) of St. Cloud, Minn.; his niece, Kate Wachlarowiez (Matt) of Plymouth, Minn.; and his nephew, Bob Roseland of St. Cloud, Minn.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in Kurt's name to Multiple Sclerosis National Society Iowa Chapter or Animal Rescue League of Iowa Inc.
