Mattocks, Bill
Bill Mattocks (William Ray Mattocks), 60, of Brandon, formerly of the Wayland/Crawfordsville area, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be Friday, Sept. 11, at the Center Chapel located in the North Village of the Old Threshers grounds in McMillan Park in Mount Pleasant. Family and friends are invited to attend from 5 to 8 p.m., with a brief tribute and message being shared at 7 p.m. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his children, Bob (Heather) Mattocks of Wayland, Dema (fiance Tom Manion) of Brandon and Hanna (Brandon) Jones of Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Reileigh Manion, Jaxton Jones, Isabelle Wilkie; sister, Sherry (Jim) Tibbs of Grandview, Mo.; and former wives, Nancy Mattocks of Wayland and Joanne Edwards of Ainsworth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian; and brothers, Bobby and Nolan Mattocks.
William R. Mattocks was born Dec. 29, 1948, in Revere, Mo., the son of Eddie and Helen (Burcham) Mattocks. Bill enjoyed fishing, being a jack-of-all-trades and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to hospice in the name of Bill Mattocks.
