Millard, Margaret M.
Margaret M. Millard, 89, formerly of Central City, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at Winslow House Care Center in Marion. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at United Parish Church in Coggon, by Pastor Jennifer Filter. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Burial: Spring Grove Cemetery, rural Coggon.
Survivors include her son, Gary Millard of Coggon; a sister, Estelle Walton of Turlock, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Florence Vernon and Paul Black.
Margaret Black was born Nov. 15, 1921, near Monticello. On Sept. 22, 1940, she was united in marriage to Lewis G. Millard in rural Monticello. He died Oct. 11, 1999. Margaret worked as a bookkeeper at the FSA office in Marion.
